A Very Unhappy Elephant
“It is good you guys are here; we have a problem and need you all to think about it and suggest ways to deal with it.”
“What is the problem Posh?”
“Well, I have been talking to Ellie, she had dropped off to sleep now, but it seems that she has lost her ellicopter again.”
“No, not again. What happened, Posh?” Asked Bertie.
“Well, it all started with this hot stuff coming down from the orange ball in the sky. Ellie kind of got fed up with it and so decided she would fly up there and turn the heat down a tad so it would be more comfortable for all us bears, especially Icecap.”
“Sound good so far, did she get herself lost then, Posh?” Asked Sky.
“I am not sure, but probably. But that is not the problem. As you guys well know that when she parks her ellicopter she has this small hand control thingy so she can make it invisible.”
“Yes, but she had that on her old ellicopter from memory. She should be used to that.” Said Barnaby.
“I think she is Barnaby, however, she was angry at the orange thingy in the sky pumping out all that heat and when she turned it down, she said that it sent down showers of wet stuff that soaked her and the ellicopter. Well, she parked it and got out and pressed the invisible button just as a loud bang occurred, she dropped the control inside the ellicopter and by the time she bent down to pick it up again the ellicopter and controller was invisible. She ran inside the house out of the water, the loud bangs, and flashes of light, now she can’t find the ellicopter.” Posh Bear explained.
“That should not be a problem Posh, we ask her where she thinks she parked it and then feel around and find it.” Said Bertie.
“It is not as easy as that, for with this new ellicopter it not only makes it invisible, it also parks it high up in the air or a tree out of the way. She says she has looked around and can’t find it and so wants to buy another new one.”
“Now, that could be a real problem for I do not know how many times a bear can use that plastic card thingy the man owns before it is worn out and will not work again. If that did not work, well we could not order honey or fish.” Explained Sky looking very concerned.
“That is what I was thinking, Sky, so any bear with any ideas as to what we can do to solve the problem?”
“Simple, Posh, we hide the card from her and then she cannot use it.” Said Barnaby wondering what the problem was they are trying to sort out because he could not see a problem.
“That is not going to work, Barnaby, the firm that sell her these ellicopters know the numbers and stuff of the card because she as to renew the whirly parts so often because she lands downside up and they break. They will replace her ellicopter and charge the man’s card thingy without seeing it. Ellie says they are very helpful that way.” Said Posh Bear still looking around for ideas.
“I don’t suppose the man has a spare card thingy for when this one gets worn out, Sky?” Said Bertie scratching his head with his paw while in deep thought.
“Could we manage to persuade Ellie that her flying days are over?” Suggested Barnaby.
“You can try, but I can’t see her agreeing to that. She is a very angry elephant now, as she says she wants to go back up to the hot thingy in the sky and complain to the management and make them get some more product training in, so they know how it works better.”
“Where is she now, Posh?”
“She is sound asleep now, Sky, I think we better leave her for now.” Said Posh.
“Sounds like a plan, by the time she wakes up she maybe will have forgotten all about this and she will try and find the controller thingy, that would give us more time to get large stocks of honey and fish in before Ellie wants the card thingy and get herself another new ellicopter.” Said Sky
The bears all nodded in agreement and said they would try and think of what was best to do and have an answer worked out by the time Ellie woke up fully.
“Just an idea, could Ellie not order a new control thingy and use that to make her ellicopter seeable again?” Suggested Barnaby.
The bear went quiet for a few minutes before Sky spoke.
“I was wondering who was going to be the first to think of that idea. I was waiting until Ellie woke up before suggesting it.”
