To The Moon and Back

“It was a fun trip, you have to agree to that, Posh?” Asked Sky.

“I have had better and would have preferred not being involved to be honest.”

“Why is that Posh, after all there was nothing much to it really?” Asked Barnaby.

“That is so true, Barnaby, we went all that way only to come all that way back again.” Added Bertie.

“You can’t blame Ellie for that guys, how was she to know that the moon wasn’t there.” Asked Sky.

“She could have looked before we set off.” Answered Posh Bear.

“Be fair, Posh, we could all have looked before we set off, and you know how it comes and goes all the time. There always was a chance of it not being there.” Said Barnaby.

“I know, but did she have to return all that way in reverse? It wasn’t as if she didn’t have room to turn around in. Flying backwards and downside up does not do much for a bears’ digestion.”

“I agree with you there, Posh, I went right off my honey the following day.” Said Sky. “I only had two jars all day.”

Posh looked at his friend and shook her head in amazement.

“I just do not understand where you put two jars of honey in such a small bear.”

“I did offer some to Barnaby, Posh, but he wasn’t feeling too good either so he didn’t have any. I don’t like to see honey wasted so I thought I had better step up and finished it. You know what I really, really, wish?” said Sky.

“I can’t think, Sky, what is it you really wish?” Asked Bertie.

“Well, instead of honey being in tall jars with small openings, I wish it was in wider jars with very wide openings. It would make it so much easier to get every bit of the honey out and into my tummy.” Explained Sky. “In fact, I think I will ask the buzzy things to do just that when I next see them.”

“If it were big enough, Sky, we could sit in the jar and eat at the same time.” Said Barnaby looking excited at the idea.

“Changing the subject from jars of honey, what did Ellie say about this trip. I was going to ask when we landed but she was already sound asleep.” Asked Bertie.

“I think she was sad that the moon had hidden itself away, but she did ask me to order as many chocolate buttons as the store had when I next order the honey.” Said Sky.

“I dare say she is running short of fuel for the ellicopter then. At least without fuel she won’t be in the air flying about scaring everything else up there.” Said Bertie.

“Will you order some for her, Sky?” Asked Posh.

“Yes, Posh, I have done so and have bought as many as I could because she said that if I didn’t she would go herself and get some and we all know what happened last time she tried to do that.”

“Yes, going straight into the warehouse of the store and loading box after box of buttons in the ellicopter didn’t go down too well and she didn’t help by offering to pay for it with an old frisbee and then expecting change.”

“I asked her about that Sky, she explained that she only used the frisbee because she didn’t have a dustbin lid to pay for it with. I told her that you had to pay for things with a piece of plastic but I don’t think that helped much. She said next time she would have a plastic bottle and use that to pay for it with.” Said Bertie.

“Ellie has never quite got the hang of hooman payments schemes.” Said Posh Bear.

“Anyway, it is ordered and is what she asked for, but when the huge lorries arrive, I have no idea where she is going to store all the boxes.

“Ho-hum…” Said Barnaby smiling.
