Moving Things Again
“Hello Posh Bear, I’d stay out of Ellie’s way for a sleep or two if I were you, and that applies to any of you other bears. She is not a happy elephant.” Said Bertie shaking his head sadly.
“Really? Why, what is wrong?”
“Well, she says that when she went to the moon this time, it had been moved again.”
“That is not good I agree, but hoomans do daft things like that. I have heard that sometimes they even try and cover it up with the orange thing.”
“I know, but what made it worse was that by the time she reached to where it had been put, they had taken it away and hidden it again, so there was no moon there. All those chocolate drops in fuel wasted and she had to come back with no cheese, no popcorn, and no chocolate from the lake.”
“Oh, my word, that wouldn’t have pleased her at all. I dare say she also wasted decent sleeping time too making the trip.”
“Precisely. She is asleep now and said she intended to have words with the man after she had caught up with sleep.” Said Bertie.
“Do you think she will, Bertie?” Asked Barnaby.
“Probably not, for the chances are she’ll forget all about it by the time she wakes up.”
“Do you think it is the man’s fault, Bertie?” Asked Sky.
“Almost certainly, he is always moving things about. Plus, have you noticed that he has had his fur cut again. Why ever would any normal hooman or bear want to have their fur cut short? Bonkers!”
“I noticed that, Sky. He does move things about and then he can’t find them when he wants them. As for cutting his fur, I thought that was just a hot day thing but it seems not.” Said Bertie.
“Look at him now, there he is walking back and forwards to various rooms with bags and things just to take our picture and be disappointed yet again.” Said Barnaby.
“I never could understand why he didn’t just leave everything where it was from one try to the next. Always clearing things away, then sometimes he takes things off shelves and gets that stuff out and makes everything shine. What is that all about? He leaves it for a few sleeps to collect that nice dull and dusty look and then changes his mind and makes it all shine again. He is one confused hooman.” Said Bertie.
“Give him credit fellas, he has managed to get the box thingy connected to the three legs and it didn’t fall off. Here we go, watch out he’ll put us in place and then go back to his box thingy and stare at that only to return here and change things.” Said Posh Bear.
“Imagine, us put on a window sill. Super stars for his pictures reduced to this. I suppose he did try other places first.” Said Bertie.
“He does suffer for his art.” Giggled Sky.
“No Sky, it is us that suffer, but anything for a quiet life. Let us hope that when Ellie wakes up, she had forgotten all about the moon, so whatever you do, don’t mention it to her.” Said Posh Bear.
“No worries about that, we’ll not say a word…” Giggled Sky “Just to be sure though, perhaps a jar of honey each would make sure we forgot all about it, Posh.”
