Barely Buns...

“Hello Sky, I wondered where you had got to.” Said Bertie who was sitting beside Posh.

“Hi Bertie, Posh, good to see you both.”

“I didn’t notice you at breakfast this morning Sky; did you give it a miss?”

“You are putting on weight Sky, I noticed that when you walked over to us.” Added Bertie.

“I had a different breakfast today as the man baked some buns yesterday evening. I managed to get a few and put some aside.”

“Did they taste all right?” Asked Bertie looking hopeful.

“Not really, heavy as lead and the sultanas resemble bullets. Last night they had at least felt soft but I gave up on a knife and fork and found that hammer thing in the end this morning. I managed to get them into pieces eventually though.”

“What is the point of that Sky, if they taste that bad?” Asked Posh.

“I have found that if I smother them with enough honey, I can take the taste of his cooking away completely. The buns do add a certain something to the honey but I’m not sure quite what as yet. I still have some buns left but I wouldn’t recommend eating them, I’m not quite sure yet what I’ll do with them. I suppose they might come in handy to sit on with a soft cushion.”

“Won’t that leave crumbs about the place though Sky?” Asked Posh.

“Not a chance. Might damage the wooden flooring but crumbs you won’t have to worry about. I really did wonder if it was going to dent my hammer thing at one point this morning.”

“Sky, it might be fun to have one each and have them as seats. I’m sure we could find some cushions of some sort to soften them with. Is there many more left?” Asked Bertie.

“I would imagine so Bertie, I can’t see anything being able to eat more than one at a sitting and even then, they would need a hammer thingy.”

“Will you show us where they’re stored then Sky?”

“Sure, but you are going to need something to carry them in. I mean these are heavy, you don’t like pick up and walk away. No way. I’d find the shopping cart, park it on the floor and then we might be able to roll them off the worktop and straight in to the cart. I only hope they don’t flatten the cart.”

“Maybe best if we take one at a time if they are that heavy.” Suggested Posh.

“Well, there is no way you are going to take them all at the same time Posh. I had help from Elli and Icecap plus the organisational skills of Wellington yesterday, even then we struggled.” Said Sky looking doubtful at Posh.

“That isn’t a bad idea Sky, we could enlist the help of Elli to roll them off the worktop while we align the shopping cart down on the floor.” Said Bertie.

“No way Bertie. If you think I am standing even close to where they drop, I’d think again. Anyway, after last night Elli said she didn’t want to try and move any more, she said that moving moonrock was easier.”

“Well come on let us have a try and see what can be done, we’ll help you with your bun Sky, and we’ll get that in position, and then we’ll set about getting our own bun seats.” Said Posh looking quite excited at the idea.

A good while later saw Posh, Bertie and Sky sitting on the buns looking exhausted but quite pleased with themselves.

“Posh, just a thought, when we leave these seats won’t the man wonder how they got here?” Asked Bertie.

“He can wonder all he likes Bertie, then he can move them back to the rubbish bin if he is able to pick them up, for they are too hard and uncomfortable as seats. Plus, I have one of those sultanas positioned really badly right now and it is making sitting down a tad uncomfortable. Not one of my better ideas I admit.” Said Posh Bear.
