Helpful Bears
“Hey Sky, you look worn out. What have you been doing?” Asked Bertie.
“Helping the man Bertie, but it hasn’t been quite so easy as I expected.”
“You don’t normally help the man Sky, why are you doing it now?” Asked Posh Bear.
“Well, you know how he is Posh, there is no way he is capable of sorting out these lights on his own. I saw the look on his face as he tipped them out of that plastic box and could tell he was in trouble.”
“So exactly what are you actually doing then Sky?”
“These lights got into a tangle so I was trying to untangle them for the man. It didn’t help when he switched the lights on while I was doing it though. I was going to tell him but you don’t like to discourage them do you Posh?”
“Absolutely not Sky, as you say he isn’t the brighten thing around so encourage him is what I say.”
“What does he want these lights for anyway Sky?”
“No idea, they stay in their box all year and then suddenly he gets the urge to take them out and use them for something. I can’t understand how they got in this tangle in the first place.” Said Sky shrugging his shoulders.
“Faith and Hope are not helping by playing in amongst the wires, if they would sit down and watch that might help.”
“They are fine Posh; I’m giving up on this mess and I’ll let the man sort it out himself. Should provide him with hours of fun and amusement.”
“Probably the highlight of his day as far as entertainment goes.” Agreed Bertie.
“Now look at him Bertie, he has got that three legged picture making thing out. Whatever is he doing now?”
“Hard to tell really Sky, probably going to take our picture again. I think he has given up with the lights.”
“These flashing lights will confuse him for he’ll never work out which is going to be best, lights on or off. This could be a long session chaps.” Giggling Sky.
“It’s going to be worse than that Sky, he has got to get a photo with the lights on and off first. I wonder if he would miss us if we crept away?” Asked Bertie.
“I doubt it but it depends on what he is going to try to take a picture of with that machine. If it is the lights, then I assume we’ll not be missed but if it is us then there is a slight chance he might notice if we aren’t there.” Said Posh.
“We need a distraction Posh, any ideas?” Asked Bertie.
“Sky, take hold of one of the bulbs and give it a twist and that should stop them all flashing, it’ll take him days to work out what has happened.” Said Posh.
“Good idea Posh, he goes.”
“Bertie you do one too then if he finds one, they still won’t work and he’ll probably put them back in that plastic box for another year.” Said Posh.
“Posh, I’ve been thunking, the lights are so pretty it seems a shame to turn them off.” Said Sky softly.
“True, maybe we’ll hang around and watch the lights for a while. What do you think Posh?” Asked Bertie.
“Whatever you want, while you’re doing this you aren’t eating my honey so I’m not going to complain. Now did you find an end to this thing Sky? Perhaps we should all help.” Asked Posh.
