Use of Anti-Addiction Drugs to Treat Addiction

Use of anti-addictive drugs has been so significant just like all the Drug Addiction Treatment methods. This is a kind of treatment that replaces the illicit drug with substances like methadone. Other substances being used for rehabilitation and treatment of addictions are like dihydrocodeine, buprenorphine, dihydroetorphine or heroin depending on the country rules and regulations. Most of the substitutes for the drugs will always depend on the patient’s needs as well. There have also been numerous instances where substitute drugs are inefficient. Less successful opiates have been replaced with newer substances like vanoxerine, nocaine and modafinil. The most difficult form of drug addiction is that of methamphetamine and this form of addiction can be replaced with a combination of gabapentin, flumazenil and hydroxyzine.
