Snowy Sunset
It was another cold day in a string of cold days. The temp remained around -15C. I can remember the winds being out of the NW because while I was walking into the park I turned my face away to lessen the impact.
About a half an hour later I noticed some trumpeter swans and a large number of ducks so I went over to get a closer look. After spending some time with them I looked to the south and saw a small 20 foot tree with a silhouette of something that made me curious.
It was a Snowy owl. The sun was beginning it's decent so I cautiously proceeded in the hopes of photographing her. She saw me approaching and appeared unconcerned. I would have loved to have had the sun behind me but that wasn't possible. I kept my visit brief. After acknowledging I had a nice shot I backtracked the same way I had arrived and she remained on her perch the way I found her.
Love that smile.
