Meet Arlene stranger #30/100.30 not out is something of a milestone that I am proud to have reached.
I have been wanting to take a portrait of an older (than me) lady for some time but wasn't having a lot of luck finding one. Most of the likely candidates that I had seen were rushing down the mall, which almost certainly means that asking them for a photo would be a waste of time. Arlene however seemed to just be looking around window-shopping so I approached. She was a bit surprised but also eager to participate. I complimented her on her cool haircut and she told me "when I turned 60 I decided that this was my new look". I thought she looked really cool and told her so.
Arlene is from Bondi Junction in Sydney and is in Brisbane on holiday for a week. She was amazed at the weather in Brisbane in winter but as I told her, winter in Brissy is the best time of year with almost perfect weather, the summer is something different altogether
