Raw Reverence

Here's a photograph I took while on a South Beach, Miami family vacation back in January, 2015. It happened to be Art Deco Weekend and Ocean Drive was lined with Artist Booths. This artist's name is FLEETWOOD COVINGTON. Very cool guy and I really enjoyed his work and style. His portraits in my photograph are actually oils on salvaged, weathered, rusted METAL.

Here is how he explains his work :"I try to create art that people can relate to on a very basic level. Using raw materials and a raw documentary approach, I try to project a reverence, not only for the cultural/ historical aspects of my subjects, but for the integrity of the individuals as well. Having been raised in the South, I feel a deep connection to the landscape and its people, and I’m always trying to capture its unique beauty, energy, and humor."
