Objective 3: Elements and Principles of Design

Space:

In my picture there is a tea cup and a tea pot. Since the tea pot is in the far back and the tea cup is close up to the right there is barely any blank space, and lots of the photo is taken up.

 

Shape:

Since my picture is of a tea cup and a tea pot there are lots of curves in the picture. The top of the tea cup is very circular and curved, and the spout of the tea pot also has curves as well.

 

Value/Tone:

The tone of picture is kind of dark. The background of the picture is dark however the blue in the teapot and the teacup bring a bright tone to the picture.

 

Balance: Since the teacup is on the left and the teapot is on right there is lots of balance in the picture because it balances the picture out. Since the objects both aren’t on the same side they are equal and balance.

Movement:

Since there is a blurred teapot in the background your eyes move from the teacup toward the teapot, and this created movement.
