Bedlay Colliery, also in North Lanarkshire was the last colliery in Scotland to use steam locos but finally closed in December 1981. I was fortunate enough to visit a couple of times before it closed.
I visited again on 16th May 1982 after closure where 0-4-0ST No 6 (Andrew Barclay works number 2043 of 1937) and 0-6-0T No 9 (Hudswell Clark works number 895 of 1909) were laid up.
No 6 is now preserved at the SRPS Bo’ness site and No 9 at the Summerlea Museum of Scottish Life in Coatbridge, though not in a working condition.
