White Rose
In the last knockings of a winter afternoons sunshine, 45140, carrying the unofficial Tinsley name of “Mercury” and the Yorkshire White Rose, runs alongside the canal between Kilnhurst and Swinton with the return leg of HRT’s White Rose railtour.
The tour had started at Marylebone behind A4 steam loco “Sir Nigel Gresley”, which worked it to Sheffield. 45140 powered the return leg, which terminated at Kings Cross.
