Electrical resistors are marked with colored rings. Therefore, the value of a resistor can be determined by means of a color code schema . Carbon film resistors usually have four colored rings. The first two rings describe the value of the resistor and the third ring a multiplier. The tolerance of the resistor is indicated by the fourth ring.
