Die Büste ist eine 2009 angefertigte Kopie der Büste, die Fritz Schaper 1901 als Seitenfigur für die Denkmalgruppe 25 der ehemalige Berliner Siegesallee geschaffen hat.
The bust is a 2009 replica of the bust that Fritz Schaper created in 1901 as a side figure for the monument group no. 25 of the former Berlin Victory Avenue.
Altlandsberg ist eine kleine Stadt östlich von Berlin mit ca. 9640 Einwohnern.Der Stadtkern ist von Wall und Graben sowie einer weitgehend erhaltenen Feldstein-Stadtmauer von 1,3 Kilometer Länge mit dem Berliner Torturm und dem Strausberger Torturm (Storchenturm) aus dem 14./15. Jahrhundert umgeben. Er ist von Bebauung überwiegend aus dem 18. und 19. Jahrhundert, darunter vielen ehemaligen Ackerbürgerhäusern, geprägt und wiurde seit 1991 umfassend saniert. Seit dem 13. Jahrhundert gab es eine Burganlage in Altlandsberg, die mehrmals abgebrannt und wieder aufgebaut wurde. ab1657, nach einem weiteren Brand, ließ Otto Freiherr von Schwerin, der zweite Mann im Staat nach dem Kurfürsten Friedrich Wilhelm, eine prachtvolle dreiflügelige Barockanlage errichten, die um 1700 Eigentum der preußischen Krone wurde. Nach einem erneuten Brand 1775 wurde das Schloss nicht wieder aufgebaut, mit Ausnahme der Schlosskirche, und das Areal zu einem Gut, einer preußischen Domäne umgewandelt. Sei 2016 wird das heute Schlossgut genannte Areal umfassend saniert und der Domänenhof für Feste und Regionalmärkte genutzt. Ein solcher markt war der Anlass für unseren Besuch. Das historische Brauhaus wurde als eines der ersten Gebäude des Ensembles restauriert und ist heute sowohl Brauhaus und Brennerei sowie ein beliebtes Restaurant.
Altlandsberg is a small town to the east of Berlin with a population of around 9640, the town centre is surrounded by a rampart and moat as well as a largely preserved 1.3 kilometre-long fieldstone town wall with the Berlin Gate Tower and the Strausberg Gate Tower (“Stork Tower”) from the 14th/15th century. It is characterised by buildings mainly from the 18th and 19th centuries, including many former farmhouses, and has been extensively renovated since 1991. There has been a castle complex in Altlandsberg since the 13th century, which was burnt down and rebuilt several times. From 1657 onwards, after another fire, Otto Baron von Schwerin, the second man in the state after Elector Friedrich Wilhelm, had a magnificent three-winged Baroque complex built, which became the property of the Prussian crown around 1700. After another fire in 1775, the Palace was not rebuilt, with the exception of the Palace church, and the area was converted into an estate, a Prussian Domain. Since 2016, the area now known as the Palace Estate has been extensively renovated and the estate courtyard has been used for festivals and regional markets. One such market was the reason for our visit. The historic brewery was one of the first buildings in the ensemble to be restored and is now both a brewery and distillery as well as a popular restaurant.
