Die Marzahner Bockwindmühle ist der Nachbau einer bereits im Jahr 1815 in Marzahn in Betrieb genommenen Bockwindmühle. Sie ist in der Abfolge der vierte Mühlenbau und wurde im Jahr 1994 an ihrem neuen Standort eingeweiht. Der Vorgängerbau hatte auf der anderen Seite des Dorfes gestanden und wurde Im Jahr 1978 im Zusammenhang mit der völligen Neubebauung von Marzahn abgerissen. Dabei wurde jedoch das historische Dorf weitgehend erhalten. Am 9. Juni 1982 beschloss der Magistrat, wieder eine Bockwindmühle unmittelbar am Dorf errichten zu lassen. Ursprünglich war geplant, eine historische Mühle in einem Dorf der weiteren Umgebung aufzukaufen und nach Marzahn zu versetzen, aber diese Pläne zerschlugen sich wen des Widerstands der jeweils betroffenen Dorfbewohner. So entstand dann erst zwischen November 1993 und Mai 1994 die heutige Anlage, ein Neubau nach historischem Vorbild. Im Schnitt wird in der Mühle ca. 150 Tage im Jahr mit Windkraft gemahlen. Da es einen Wechsel gab und der neue Müller noch in der Ausbildung ist, gibt es vorübergehend allerdings keine regelmäßigen Betriebs- und Besichtigungszeiten. Aber heiraten kann man auch jetzt in der Mühle, die weiterhin eine Außenstelle des Standesamtes Marzahn von Berlin ist.
The Marzahn Windmill is a replica of a windmill that was put into operation in Marzahn in 1815. It is the fourth mill in the sequence and was inaugurated at its new location in 1994. The previous building had stood on the other side of the village and was demolished in 1978 in connection with the complete redevelopment of Marzahn. However, most the historic village was largely preserved. On 9 June 1982, the Magistrate (East Berlin's municipal goverment) decided to rebuild a windmill directly adjacent to the village. Originally it was planned to buy up a historic mill in a village in the wider area and move it to Marzahn, but these plans fell through due to the resistance of the villagers concerned. So it was only between November 1993 and May 1994 that the present mill was built, a new building based on a historical model. On average, the mill grinds with wind power about 150 days a year. Since there has been a change and the new miller is still in training, there are temporarily no regular operating and visiting times. But as before you can get married in the mill, which is still a branch of the Marzahn registry office of Berlin.
