Die astronomische Uhr aus dem 16. Jahrhundert unter der Orgelempore wurde 1977 wieder funktionsfähig gemacht. Sie ist eine der wenigen alten Uhren ihrer Art, die in Norddeutschland noch vollständig erhalten sind. Ihr in 24 Stunden eingeteiltes Zifferblatt misst 3x3 Meter.
Die 1447 geweihte Marienkirche war die Kirche des Rats. Gemeinsam mit Rathaus und Roland beherrschen die 82 m hohen Türme das Bild des Marktplatzes. Es handelt sich um eine spätgotische dreischiffige Hallenkirche. Neben dem prächtigen Hochaltar sind die astronomische Uhr und der Lettner sehenswert.
The 16th century astronomical clock under the organ loft was restored to working order in 1977. It is one of the few old clocks of its kind still completely preserved in northern Germany. Its dial, divided into 24 hours, measures 3x3 metres.
St. Mary's, consecrated in 1447, was the church of the City Council. Together with the Town Hall and the Roland statue, the 82 m high towers dominate the image of the market square. Besides the magnificent main altar, the astronomical clock and the rood screen are worth seeing.
