Alpinestars Produces Unique Livery for Nelson Piquet Jr. with UK Based Artist Death Spray Custom
Charlotte, NC – Nelson Piquet Jr.’s Chevy Silverado will wear a unique livery Friday night as he takes on the rest of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series drivers at Charlotte Motor Speedway. A collaborative effort between Alpinestars and UK based artist Death Spray Custom, Piquet’s truck will be emblazoned with a bold, vibrant arrangement of color and shape. Designed by David Gwyther, AKA Death Spray Custom, the livery is inspired by a thermal image or heat signature. The truck livery will be accompanied by a custom Alpinestars suit that will also feature elements of the ‘heat signature’ design.
Alpinestars regularly collaborates with artists and designers to fuse motorsports and art. This collaboration is part of a long lineage of graphic explorations and artist endeavors pursued by Alpinestars with the help of talented creators.
“As an artist, I am drawn to transportation and sport. One of my main themes is the subject of mobility through all vehicles, as well as the way we interact with brands. To see one of my creations adorning a NASCAR truck is a great opportunity. And to work with a brand like Alpinestars that is so willing to innovate and push boundaries ... it was a no brainer.” said Gwyther.
Piquet Jr., who was thrilled at the opportunity to bring something exciting to the truck series, had the following to say: “I think it’s a different look obviously. Something not many have done in this industry. I always like doing something outside of the box and I’ve always tried to do that with Alpinestars. I'm sure it will grab the fan’s attention.”
Nelson Piquet Jr.’s number 30 Chevy Silverado will carry the Astars/Death Spray Custom as it challenges the NASCAR CWTS field on Friday night at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. The custom “Heat Signature” truck will also be honored with a limited edition T-shirt and a special paper craft model.
