BAR Bangor & Aroostook No 161 GP38 #85 East Millinocket, ME 01-00-76
The 70's and early 80's were good years for the BAR. They had 3 large paper mills online and handled much of the raw materials used in the making paper and of course the outbound loads. The Great Northern Mill located in East Millinocket was served out of Millinocket by 2 crews 7 days a week 365 days a year. With Bunker C on the point No 161 is arriving East Mill and the first order of business will be to switch the fuel track. The mill at East Mill along with the mill in Millinocket are no more and while the tracks remain there is no business.
