MEC GP-7 #581 Deadline Waterville , ME 09-08-83
Maine Central GP-7 sits in the deadline at Waterville Shop along with atleast 2 different models of Alco's S Line. Some will be sold some will be scrapped. The #581 was originally purchased by the Portland Terminal as their #1081, it was steam boiler equipped and lacked nose mu and worked much of its time on the B&M working off horsepower hours. It would return to service as Springfield Terminal #20 being equipped with nose mu.
