MEC Maine Central GP38 #252 RY-2 Crawford Notch 07-20-74
RY-2 was usually called Rigby for 1500 so often during the long days of summer one could chase the train from Rigby Yard to Crawford Notch and beyond. In 1974 Crawford Notch was still a register day and the head end brakeman is registering while the engineer strikes up a conversation with a bell bottom jean queen. The 252 was and continues to be a frequent visitor to this location as it is now owned by the Conway Scenic, which it received from Pan Am in cash/trade that included the addition of a GP35 to the roster and the selling of there 2 FP-9's.
