MEC MBTA Psgr Extra Androscoggin River Bridge Lewiston, ME 9-10-83
During the Maine Central days GTI operated some pretty funky excursions including a trip to Foxcroft on the now abandoned Foxcroft Branch, a trip on the Bucksport Branch, now basically out of service and a trip to Mattawamkeag. Track Speeds were good enough so in September of 1983 using MBTA equipment that they ran an excursion out of North Station on a Saturday through to Bangor laying over returning on Sunday via the Lower Road. Here the special is eastbound crossing the Androscoggin River from Auburn into Lewiston. Times have certainly changed.
