MEC GP-38 #251 Westbound, Lambert Lake, ME 06-12-76

The CP purchased the "Joint Track" between Mattawamkeag and Vanceboro on December 17, 1974 from the Maine Central railroad finally making it a true transcontinental railroad. For a period of time after the purchase interchange continue to be made at Vanceboro. On the weekends the crews would report on their rest and head for Bangor. Run ahead of its timetable schedule and as an extra VB-2 is in the hole at Lambert Lake waiting on No 40 to roll by. Timetable Scheduled operations were great and another classic part of railroad that is no more.
