MEC RS-11 #802, Bangor Roundhouse, Bangor, ME 07-00-81

While the Maine Central owned several S Series models produced by ALCO and a small fleet of RS2's and RS3's they only had 2 251 powered units on the roster. RS-11 #801 was bought new and RS-11#802 was originally built for the jointly owned Portland Terminal as 1082 before being transferred to the MEC in late 1956. Painted in the classic harvest gold and green scheme of the Maine Central awaits it calls to work in Bangor on a perfect July day in 1981. The unit was scrapped in the mid 80's at Colonie Shops, itself now torn down.
