D&H RS-3M aka TE56-4A #505 Mechanicville, NY 6-16-76
Going out in double digit minus temps just has little appeal to me these days, so I have been scanning a few slides. D&H RS-3 #505 was originally delivered to the D&H as their #4122. In 1975 the D&H sent 10 RS-3's to MK in Boise for a rebuild that included an upgraded electrical and control systems along with a 251 prime mover. 8 rebuilts were returned to the D&H and the assumption is these were used as a part source and scrapped out. MK started delivering these rebuilts in early 1976. In June 1976 #505 sits on the service track at Mechanicville with another Alco graduate.
