488 East Brunswick Yard CPL15
2015 was the last year of operation for the Maine Eastern as the Maine DOT opted to select another operator for the Rockland Branch. To say operations were strange would be an understatement including using the FL9's in freight service a couple of times and operating a mixed train with no revenue passengers on at least one occasion to reposition equipment. Towards the end they were operating the excursion train with 3 units as the HEP on one of the FL9's was down and the other FL9 suffered from continuous ground relay action resulting in the GP9 being used. Here on a please September morning we find the pair at Brunswick picking up off the interchange track before heading East to Thomaston and the cement plant there. The chase was on.
