On December 17th, 1974 the Maine Central sold the 57 miles of track they owned between Mattawamkeag and Vanceboro to the Canadian Pacific. The Maine Central maintained operating rights over the "Joint Track" and No 335 with the only 2 RS11's owned by the MEC are coming down the hill into Keag. Originally after the sale the Maine Central maintained 6 day a week service to Vanceboro and then reduced it to triweekly and then with little or no traffic they discontinued this service. With no online customers between Bangor and Mattawamkeag serviced has been reduced to as required, traffic that once was interchanged at Keag no moves via the CM&Q to Northern Maine Jct via Brownville Jct.
