For a time the Maine Central originated a local out of Bartlett NH to do what remaining switching and servicing of the customers between Bartlett and St Johnsbury but seldom going West of Gilman, VT. The local came onduty around noon ran to Gilman switched the mill and was back in Bartlett ahead of RY-2. This allowed RY-2 to pick up the locals unit if tonnage required it for the climb up over Crawford Notch. YR-1 would drop if off for the local on the return trip. ZO-2 is still handling some oil for Berlin NH that will be set off at Whitefield for the B&M as they roll westbound through Fabyans on a splendid fall day.
