While dispatching out of Tucson I made a trip up to the Santa Fe's mainline with a friend of mine from Maine. At that time the Santa Fe still had a dispatching office located in the station there. We had only minimal contact with the Santa Fe Dispatcher's to coordinate having crews in position for the Cochise coal train. Back then we chatted more about the rumors of the proposed merger, some of these folks I would work with later when I worked for the Santa Fe. Tonight No 3 has paused at the station during its regular station stop.
