Memorial Day Weekend 1983 an OCS Special was operated from Waterville to Rockland with the 573 still steam generator equipped and the 470 which was rebuilt from Maine Central GP-7 #564. While the weather sucked it did allow for some pictures on the Rockland Branch. The special is westbound getting ready to go underneath Route 1 at Montsweag. The Rockland Branch was sold to the State of Maine and on January 1st, 2016 it will have it 4th operator. The area is all grown in now and this picture is no longer possible.
