MEC Maine Central BR-4 Augusta 10-1-1982
In just over 22 miles the Maine Central's Lower Road / mainline would cross the Kennebec River 3 times. BR-4 is making it's final crossing of the mighty Kennebec in Augusta with a mixture of B&M and Mec units. On the left is the Edwards fabric mill now demolished, the Edwards Dam since removed, on the right side commonly know as East Augusta the paper mill is now just a memory. The State of Maine now owns the bridge and the tracks to Brunswick and Pan Am visits East Augusta a couple of days of week.
