Mount Willard House Section Memorial
At the location of the former section house at Mount Willard a granite memorial and bench has been placed in memory of the Evans Family. Loring Evans was the section foreman and arrived here with his wife Hattie in 1903 and they raised 4 children at this remote location. Loring was killed by a train in 1916 and his wife remained as a cook for the section crews raising the children until they left in 1942. The dwelling was burned down by the railroad in 1972
