BR-4 Harwards 10-1-1982
Harwards Siding located at MP 40.58 on the Lower Road of the Maine Central had a capacity of 47 cars. In October 1982 BR-4 with run through power is passing the former siding quickly being overtaken by mother nature and the Lower Road. Guilford would shut this line down as a through route and only provide service to the remaining customers in East Augusta. The line would be bought by the Maine DOT and has been dormant for almost 12 years with the exception of 1 excursion on the line in 2008 and oh by the way the bridge I took this picture off of was torn down and replaced with an at grade crossing.
