BASE 404W Burnham Jct, ME 07-03-90
On a trip home I 1990 I was out taking a few shots, BASE (Bangor-Selkirk) is rolling through Burnham Junction with the 404 on the point. The U18's were the last new locomotives purchased by the Maine Central. In the background is the grain elevator that is long gone and on the right hand side is the south leg of the wye for the Belfast and Moosehead Lake. Today there is no freight business on the B&ML or at Burnham Jct on the Maine Central and the State of Maine is the 2nd largest owner of tracks within the state.
