#14 Calais, ME 11-7-76

The Maine Central purchased 7 GE 44tonners and they worked at various outlying terminals as they had heater's that allowed them to be plugged in to prevent freezing in the winter months. The 14 is in Calais today to protect the Eastport Local, service to the Eastport Branch ended in 1988 and the tracks into downtown Calais have long been removed. Across the St Croix river is the province of New Brunswick and the town of St Stephen you can see the CPR freight house
