MEC Maine Central XW-2 GP7 #577 Foxcroft, ME 9-78

WX-1 better known as the Foxcroft Local is seen on the former Bangor and Aroostook mainline to Greenville at Foxcroft. This track was maintained and purchased when the BAR abandoned the Greenville Branch. International Paper had a large wood yard and the Maine Central provided 6 day a week service handling the pulpwood from this location and several others to the IP Mill located at Rileys. There was enough pulpwood moving by rail on the Maine Central to provide a dedicated pulpwood train 6 days a week out of Waterville often exceeding 75 cars.
