#JJ DAILY FORUM
#SILHOUETTE
#JJ_FORUM_0876 is our tag for the day. Big thanks to @est0y for the inspiration with this nose submission yesterday. One of my favorites of the whole theme.
Today's assignment, despite the fact that I can still never remember how to spell it, is one of my all time favorites. We've done it before and we'll do it again. Today I'm looking for silhouettes.
#JJ_INSTATIP - Here's a little tip for today's theme. A good silhouette is all about exposure. You need to understand how to control how bright or dark your camera is. On your phone simply tap a bright area of your composition to darken the overall exposure.
If your on a "big person camera". . . what's your problem? ;-). Just kidding. Google exposure compensation and your camera model. You'll probably find information on how to use this indispensable feature. And for the record. I shot half SLR and half iPhone on the job I just finished. Can't be in trouble with either camp. ;-).
.
#JJ? WHAT'S A JJ?.
.
Are you new to the community? It's not as confusing as it seems at first. :-). Here's the deal.
Sometimes it can be hard to get your pictures seen and find inspiring photographers to follow. That's why I created the forum 3 years ago. It's a place to come together for inspiration and encouragement.
Every morning, NYC time, we make a post announcing our new theme and tag. Your job is to tag images that fit the theme. You can use shots you have already posted but we really love to see the theme inspire you to find new shots. The @jj_editors, @kevinkuster and I scour the tag and repost our favorite submissions through out the day. Over half a million people might see your pic! Pretty cool stuff.
We are ALL about keeping things simple, but in the spirit of our motto, "Create to connect", we ask that you follow our only "rule". We call it the 1-2-3 rule. For every 1 image you tag, comment on 2 in the tag and like 3 others.
Glad you're here. Can't wait to see your shots. Speak up if you have questions or comments. We like to think this is the friendliest place on the internet. :-).

skyframes: Very cool! @est0y
sanchita_banerjee: Will a person b judged on basis of camera he or she uses?? Or the theme on whch she has clicked.
susanblanda: Great tip. I wouldn't worry too much about being in trouble @joshjohnson. From what I've seen on IG, the only ones who are looked down upon are those that use DSLRs. Still don't get it. The bottom line is always about the image. We all get to pick and choose which images speak to us. That's why I love the JJ community. Here people seem to embrace creativity and variety. Love that <3
