Here's a tip for today's assignment.

Never feel disappointed again if you get a rainy day of vacation. Dramatic and interesting weather can lead to some of the most interesting shots.
.
Here are a couple things to look for when the weather goes bad.
.
1. Dramatic light through clouds. AKA "God Rays".
.
2. Shimmering reflections after a rainstorm. Just take a look at your next car commercial on TV. They actually will often FAKE wet roads with big water trucks.
.
3. I love to find layers of light and atmosphere during or after a storm. Fog or rain do a great job lending a 3d feel to an image.

WHAT THE HECK IS #JJ?.

Are you new to the community? It's not as confusing as it seems at first. :-). Here's the deal.
.
Sometimes it can be hard to get your pictures seen and find inspiring photographers to follow. That's why I created the forum 3 years ago. It's a place to come together for inspiration and encouragement.
.
Every morning, NYC time, we make a post announcing our new theme and tag. Your job is to tag images that fit the theme. You can use shots you have already posted but we really love to see the theme inspire you to find new shots. The @jj_editors, @kevinkuster and I scour the tag and repost our favorite submissions through out the day. Over half a million people might see your pic! Pretty cool stuff.

We are ALL about keeping things simple, but in the spirit of our motto, "Create to connect", we ask that you follow our only "rule". We call it the 1-2-3 rule. For every 1 image you tag, comment on 2 in the tag and like 3 others.

Glad you're here. Can't wait to see your shots. Speak up if you have questions or comments. We like to think this is the friendliest place on the internet. :-).
