New Year Tree 2021
I'm very fond of our New Year Tree because every ornament on it was chosen and bought by me. And all of them look exquisitely beautiful to me. I like Christmas ornaments made in India most of all, with their crude, heavy glass with or without etchings; thick metal loops, sometimes rhinestones, and thankfully no glitter. But I have plenty of others as well.
In Russia we celebrate New Year two times: on the 31st of December, officially, and on the 13th of January as well. Till mid-20th century we used a different calendar, in which the 31th of December corresponded to modern 13th January. Religious people also celebrate Christmas which is on the 7th of January, but it is not necessarily connected with New Year Tree.
And a lot of people keep their New Year Tree a lot longer, especially an artificial one, because we celebrate Winter Wonderland in general 😊🎄❄️🍰🎉
