Brick Colorstream
427 Compd. Cool Yellow V.3
BrickLink: Bright Light Yellow
Status: Current
Introduced in 2025 with set 31215, this color seems to be a reformulation of 226 Cool Yellow. That color, like white, has had a lot of variation over the years, and has recently been more transparent than it should be. This new color doesn’t stand out at all next to existing Cool Yellow parts, but it is slightly more opaque, and has the same “crispy” looking edges that 426 White does. It’s a subtle but welcome improvement that should be a lot more consistent going forward.
It seems that so far, we only have ABS parts in this color — clips that would be in polycarbonate etc are still the old 226 Cool Yellow. Too soon to say if they will be used concurrently forever.
I go into a deeper dive on these new colors at my Patreon — I try to avoid putting anything behind a paywall generally, so all the important info should be here on flickr. But this seemed interesting enough to make a whole blog post out of it!
