London, Golder's Hill Park - Sept 2011 (03 & 04)

Golder’s Hill Park

Situated in North End Way, Golders Hill, London NW3 7HE. The park is chiefly grassy parkland but has a very well looked after flower garden. It has a duck pond with a humped-back bridge, a small zoo that is free to enter. A water garden, a larger pond, a Butterfly House (restricted opening times) plus playground, tennis courts and croquet lawns. There is also a bronze statue named ‘The Golder’s Hill Girl’ sculptured by Patricia Finch in 1991.

The Park attaches itself to Hampstead Heath. In the day there was a large House but this was damaged in WWII never to be rebuilt. A restaurant has been built near the site of that house.

The Park is closed at night and dogs must be kept on leads at all times.
