Charangos
by El Vid
I bought my first one in Quito in 1996 with the help of my cousin's wife Ana Lucia, and named a song after her ("Ana Lu, madrina de mi charango.") In May 2021 Pete Lavelle gave me one that had belonged to cimbalom player John McBrian (1941-2020), made using an armadillo shell for a body.
