Headshot

For this photograph, I adjusted my camera so that it would have an aperture of 5.6 which helped to create a shallow depth of field, and at the same time show more details of the subjects facial expression. Also, the shutter speed I used was 1/1000 and the ISO, 1000 in order to maintain the good lighting and have the right exposure. To add on, I styled my subject so that he would be in the center of my lens in order to show that he is the main subject and also placed him below a tree so that the sun would not hit his face directly, and also to cast different tones in the shot. For example, I really like how a part of his hat is hit by the light and also how the green shits of the boys in the back have greener spots from the light that is coming through the trees and hitting their shirts. Also, the boy was standing with one side closer of the sun, creating more shadow in the left side of his face, helping with the result and the contrast of light. I did not tell the boy to create any specific facial expressions because I wanted his personality to show through the shot, and I really liked how he has this almost innocent face. To add on, I liked how the boys wearing green in the back helped the photograph since there is a great contrast between the greens and subject´s white face, helping to emphasize the white color. I also like how the color in the mime´s face is pealing off in certain areas around his chin and right side of his face, which gives a sense of how long he has been wearing that paint, and also helping with the details of his face.
