Unser Kraftwerk. Our Power Plant.
We set out on a grey and cloudy day to shoot some photos of the nearby power plant „Staudinger“. Having just put up our cameras, unexpectedly the sky broke open and the sun produced these sensational colours. The whole scenery didn‘t last any longer than ten minutes and then the sun disappeared behind the thick clouds again. We were so lucky! The best view of the plant is from the bridge „Limesbrücke“.
We call it „our power plant“ because the huge cooling towers with its big clouds of water vapor are visible from almost everywhere in our area. It is something like a landmark! Whenever you‘ll approach Frankfurt International Airport, chances are great that you pass the power plant that is 25 kilometers to the east of the city. As westerly winds predominate in the Frankfurt area, 75 % of all aircrafts approach the airport from the east.
