Preserved F-100

North American Aviation F-100D Super Sabre 54-2163 at the Dumfries & Galloway Aviation Museum southwest Scotland.

Built in 1954 and initially delivered to the USAF, later moving to France in 1958 on lease lend, being assigned to the NATO 4th Allied Tactical Air force (4ATAF) West Germany until 1967, then serving in the French Air Force for a further ten years. Made Its final flight after FAF retirement to USAF Sculthorpe Norfolk in 1977 for storage, remaining there for two years before moving to the Museum in 1979.

54-2163 is now exhibited in the markings of a representative aircraft of the Vientnam War, this being F-100C 54-2005/HA of the 174th TFS, 185th TFG, Iowa ANG that served at Phu Cat Air Base South Vietnam between May 1968 and May 1969.
