A Train In The Woods

It's been said that you need context with a photo and 'don't just shoot a train in the woods.' Well, when I stumbled on the southbound Gardner turn job as they cleared the Pan Am yard heading back to Worcester, it was all about playing catch up. In Central Mass, there's a lot of trees in the small towns between the two cities. Thanks to a speed restriction, I was able to get ahead in time to shoot them at the Morgan Road crossing in Hubbardston MA. Context or not, the classically painted P&W 4005 looks fantastic in the woods and just about anywhere else. In another month, this shot (which has been brushing in significantly over the last couple years) will be in shadows.
