Scorpion Fly - Male (Panorpa communis)

I have uploaded 3 images of a Scorpion Fly - side view of a male, top view of a female and side view of a female. The male has an upturned abdomen with a bulbous genitalia, whereas the abdomen of the female tapers towards the rear. They are around 14mm in length and have a prominent 'beak' used in feeding. They scavenge on dead animals, including the contents of spider's webs and also feed on ripe fruit. Seen May - July. These were taken at Low Barns Nature Reserve in June.

Many thanks to all who take the time to view, comment or fav my images.
