Adult Cicada
This is one of the adult insects that emerge from a larval case like the one I uploaded this morning. These Cicadas are the noisy insects you hear calling in the trees but cannot usually spot them. As you can see, they are well camouflaged.
If you look at the empty larval case in my previous photo, you can see that the larvae had large claws for burrowing in the earth, but once emerged as an adult, their claws are smaller, as the adult does not need to burrow. The adult only requires to mate!
