Black-browed Albatross (Thalassarche melanophris) - Beagle Channel, AR and CH

I saw hundreds of these stunning Albatrosses in the Beagle Channel on both the Chilean and Argentinian sides of the channel on my way to the Gentoo, Magellanic and single King Penguin Colony on Martillo Island. Black-browed Albatrosses are endangered and impacted by climate change and longline fisheries. This Mollymawk is the Albatross that is killed the most in the world by longlines. There has been a 67% decline in the population over 64 years. They breed in the Falkland Islands and South Georgia and Chile and in the Indian Ocean and on islands off of NZ.
