Taken at Piper Spit at Burnaby Lake. Rusty Blackbirds are threatened in Canada and steadily declining, so we must do all we can to conserve them. The main threat to their population is habitat loss on their wintering grounds and the lawful shooting of blackbirds for agricultural control.
