Sanderling (Calidris alba) - Point Roberts, WA

I took these in July when they were in faded breeding plumage. I find them to be so beautiful in this plumage. They sort of resemble large Red-necked Stints at this time. I long for the days when I can sit by the beach and watch shorebirds go about their happy business again.This image was taken at Lighthouse Park.
